The Seven Major Chakras
“Chakra” is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel”. Chakras are thought of as spinning wheels of energy. There are seven major chakras located along the human spine. Each chakra that is located on the front of the body is paired with its counterpart on the back of the body and together they are considered the front and rear aspect of one chakra.
The chakras are connected to energy pathways of the body called meridians. Each chakra spins at a vibrational frequency that corresponds to a color. The energy produced by the chakras determines the color that dominates the auric field. An imbalance of energy or a blocking of the flow of energy causes illness.
Each chakra is associated with parts of the physical body and has an emotional and spiritual perspective. The first chakra, located at the base of the spine, is developed at birth. Each chakra develops sequentially through the seventh chakra, located at the top of the head. When there is an energy block in a chakra while a person is growing up, the remaining charkas do not develop with balanced energies.
Chakras interact with the universal life force and animate the various aspect of your life. They are gateways between various dimensions. The activity of emotion and thought affects the dimension of our physical bodies. This interaction plays on our interaction with others and influences another dimension, our action in the outside world.
You chakras determine your use of energy and give you a way of identifying the type of energy you are experiencing: survival, pleasure/sexual, personal power, love, creativity, intuition, or spiritual. Balanced chakras indicate a balanced life with health and happiness.
